Stuck

Stuck

Right now, things are going pretty well. (Although if you know me at all, you’ll know how terrifying that is for me to say). My husband Jefferson and I have been living (and doing well) in my parent’s basement for almost two months now, we are both thriving in our workplaces, and I finally feel like I have a stable community of people who care for me. But still, I feel…stuck.  Continue reading “Stuck”

“What’s Wrong With You?” – An FAQ About Me

What's wrong with you - anxiety disorders FAQ

If you suffer from any mental health issues, you probably know that feeling when you are just so tired of explaining the same things over and over again. Sometimes, explaining my disorders or the reasons for my weird behaviour is embarrassing (which it shouldn’t be, but it feels that way), frustrating, or just plain hard. And I, of course, did not have an eating disorder!  Continue reading “I Have An Eating Disorder”

Happy Anniversary

Four years ago today, I signed up with WordPress and created this blog. I didn’t have my own domain name, I had no idea what to write about, and my blog header was an owl for some reason. The original name was “Anxious & Awesome” and I never liked that title. I also never thought I would ever publicly share my blog or let anyone know who the author behind these posts were. But a lot has changed in four years. A lot.  Continue reading “Happy Anniversary”

Burnt Fingers and Ruined Vacations

You know how people always say that they would never change [insert generally negative aspect/characteristic/health issue] about themselves? Because that thing made them stronger or more empathetic or a better person in general? Yeah well as noble as that sentiment is, I would get rid of my anxiety disorders in a heartbeat.  Continue reading “Burnt Fingers and Ruined Vacations”

Crippling Nostalgia

I did a quick google search to see if “crippling nostalgia” made any sense. To my surprise, there were actually other people out there who not only felt the same way I do, but also used the words “crippling nostalgia” to describe it. I guess I’m not so witty after all.  Continue reading “Crippling Nostalgia”
