So, I was going to blog about the fact that for the first time in fourteen years – yes, years – I actually threw up (literally my worst fear)…but I don’t really want to go down that path and relive the horror today. So instead, I’m ranting about something that has been said probably a million times already but I don’t care. It’s happening. Continue reading “Girl Tape & Female Rappers”
I don’t often write about pop culture on my blog. I figure there’s enough of that out there.
But when this new “feud” between Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift caught my attention, I just couldn’t help but react to it. Continue reading “Why I (Mostly) Agree With Miley Cyrus”
NOTICE: BEFORE I get started on my real post, I just wanted to talk about the small changes I’ve made to my blog! The website link has stayed the same (www.anxiousandawesome.wordpress.com), however, the actual name of my blog has changed to “Ellay’s Space”(My initials are L.A…Ell…Ay…Ellay) – because I apparently like borderline cliché, boring blog names. Whatever. I decided to change the name because my blog is not just about anxiety – I felt it was misleading when I decided to blog about things such as social media and books and movies and TV shows and whatever else I decided to blog about. I also felt constrained – like I had to stick to one topic because of the name, which might be a stupid reason but also…whatever. It is changed now.
Alriiiiight! On to the actual post!
Okay, so, this is my first new post in like two weeks. I’m sorry! My semester is almost over and I’ll be able to spend more time blogging, for those who care! Anyway, I wanted to talk about something that happened last night. Something that initially made me really upset, but then got me thinking. Thinking about how I present myself on Facebook – which up until last night, I thought I was doing a pretty good job. Continue reading “Reevaluating my Social Network Life”
I was browsing through Reddit a few days ago and came across this post. The post was asking people what controversial opinions they have. Now, a lot of the opinions, in MY opinion, were not only controversial but also deplorable. For example, the top comment in this thread stated “I believe that parents should be given a “grace period” after giving birth in which they have the choice to humanely euthanize the child if it unexpectedly comes out with a disability.” Continue reading “Controversy”
Do you have a role model? If so – who are they? Where did you meet them? Do you even know them? Did you see them on TV? In a movie? Did you read about them in a book? A magazine? Are they old? Young? Alive? Dead? Whether you are aware of it or not, you probably have some sort of role model in your life – or you have in the past. With the current state of technology and mass media, we talk a lot about “role models”. Who is one. Who isn’t one. Who should be one. Why?
Have you ever watched MTV’s The Real World? Even if you’ve never seen a single episode, I’m sure you’ve at least heard of the reality show. It’s currently on its 29th season, and has been running since 1992 (it’s the same age as me!) I’ll admit it. The Real World is one of my guilty pleasures. It’s a guilty pleasure because…well…have you SEEN the show?
